Mira Mesa

Fuze (Mira Mesa)

We came out to try TACO TUESDAY at... *gasp* ... a korean restaurant!

FUZE recently opened on Mira Mesa boulevard near the Edwards theater area. The special of the night was $1.75 tacos and $2 off their appetizers. The tacos are not the cheapest compared to other places but the good news is that Fuze has a later happy hour with half off mixed souju until 8pm! So that night we ate and drank til we were full!

Po & Pho

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it: Yes, there are plenty of great pho options in Mira Mesa...  here's another one.  I enjoyed the delicious broth in their Pho Ga (chicken), plus the service is good.

Yogurt Swirl

It used to be that I would travel to a faraway land called Convoy for frozen yogurt, but not anymore.  Mira Mesa now has several of its own self-serve yogurt shops and Yogurt Swirl is one of the cutest!

If you haven't been to a self-serve yogurt shop before, here's the procedure:

1. Get a cup (there's usually 2 sizes available)

2. Fill it with however much yogurt you want, however you want it (just one flavor, all the flavors...)

3. Sprinkle whatever toppings you want on your frozen yogurt

4. Weigh and pay

Taste of Mira Mesa

Date:
03/31/2009 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Taste of Mira Mesa IV will be on Tuesday, March 31st 6:30 – 8:30 PM once again at Gen-Probe‘s beautiful courtyard. As of this date, a dozen restaurants have signed on to bring samples of their best food for our patrons, with several other local restaurants pending. (If you own a restaurant ,and would like to participate, but haven‘t been contacted call Kathy Madsen 858-578-4110).

Silver Ark

I was hungry. Therefore, it was pretty easy to persuade me to try a new restaurant… Silver Ark in Mira Mesa. It’s next to Rite Aid (who is apparently welcoming Sav-on customers or at least that’s what their giant sign says).

And when I say new, I mean no one else has heard of this place. We were the only two customers. Even so, the service was poor. After they brought out our food, they didn’t come by to check if we needed anything or ask how the food was. I did like the decor though. The rich blue and yellow. If you look closely at the chairs and the floor, it seemed regal.

Alejandro's Mexican Food

It was getting late and I was at my Cliffs of Insanity… it was dark and cold… I had been talking to Michelle for like an hour and decided that it was time to get some food. Late nights have always screamed mexican food since my TWE days, but I wanted to try something different, so I drove around the streets of La Jolla, past my beloved John Muir College, past Tioga Hall… I saw Croutons, but kept driving. I drove through Miramar and ended up in Mira Mesa.

Sushi Town

sushi town

I’ve been having the biggest sushi craving for a while, so I asked my friend Phil if he would like to accompany me and at the same time recommend a place where we can get good sushi. He decided to take us to Sushi Town and told me their sushi was pretty good and at a decent price range.

El Patron

So one day, I’m extremely hungry and with Dennis. What else is there to do other than eat out in Mira Mesa with all of the great small businesses? He tells me about a great burrito thats larger than my forearm for only $6. Unbelievable! I had to see it for myself.

Yoshi Sushi

This was my first trip to Yoshi Sushi although Dennis had been telling me about it for awhile. Apparently, they have a great all you can eat sushi deal. They make the sushi fresh with that deal so it’s much better than going to a sushi buffet. It’s good for sharing but since it was just Dennis and myself (we were later joined by Lynn), we decided to skip the all you can eat deal and just order something off their dinner menu.

Tan Ky Mi Gia

After having a business brunch with Hai, we decided to actually go and eat something somewhere else. We originally decided to goto the banh mi shop near Big Lots but changed our minds and ate at Tan Ky Mi Gia instead.

Much to my suprise, the noodle menu did not offer fried shrimp! I was very saddened…
