Ramen Yamadaya (Clairemont)

We tried out this restaurant a few weeks ago when we were in a ramen noodle mood...

For ramen, you can select one of the three basic bowls:

tonkotsu ramen (pork broth), tonkotsu shoyu (pork broth with soy sauce), and tonkotsu kotteri (pork broth, oilier)

If you pick any of the other ramen dishes, you get to pick one of the three broths above as your base flavoring, prior to all the extra ingredients you get from your menu selection.

Fuze (Mira Mesa)

We came out to try TACO TUESDAY at... *gasp* ... a korean restaurant!

FUZE recently opened on Mira Mesa boulevard near the Edwards theater area. The special of the night was $1.75 tacos and $2 off their appetizers. The tacos are not the cheapest compared to other places but the good news is that Fuze has a later happy hour with half off mixed souju until 8pm! So that night we ate and drank til we were full!

Blockheads Shavery Co

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it:  After eating at Seoul Sausage Co, we went next door for some snow cream!  What's that you ask?  It's like shaved ice, but with ice cream.  We tried the #4 special - black sesame with cookies & cream, rice cake, and coconut puree drizzle ($6 for large).  It might look gross, but it tastes great and it's a fun treat to share with family or friends.  A must try!

Seoul Sausage Co

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it:  Where have you heard of Seoul Sausage Co?  They are the winners from season 3 of "The Great Food Truck Race."  Da KFC (Korean Fried Chicken, $8-9) with corn bread was my favorite!  They are really busy with only a few tables outside.  The owners are really nice guys and even took pictues with us.

The Foundry

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it:  Who knew Potato Soup (with leek bread pudding and gruyere) could taste this good?  The waiter brought a bowl with bacon topped with an egg and then poured the soup into the bowl ($11).  Seriously, best potato soup I've ever had.

Brodard (Nem Nuong) Restaurant

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Wa Dining OKAN

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it: The Fried Shrimp with Mayonnaise Sauce was amazing!  The shrimp are plump and cooked to perfection, not deep fried with batter. ($6.50)  Call and make a reservation for dinner since the restaurant is pretty small.  Some servings are also small, so it might be a little pricey to fill up a hungry tummy.

Po & Pho

Hey, there! I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it: Yes, there are plenty of great pho options in Mira Mesa...  here's another one.  I enjoyed the delicious broth in their Pho Ga (chicken), plus the service is good.

MILK

Hey, there!  I've been busy with work and life, but I wanted to share some great things to eat!

Here's the short of it:  I love red velvet, but I love MILK's Blue Velvet even more!  "This Southern classic gets a MILK twist. White chocolate cream cheese frosting, 3 layers of blueberry chiffon cake and fresh blueberries."  So good!  ($5 per slice)

Spirits of Mexico 2012 Tequila Trail Part 2 of 2

Continuing on with the Tequila Trail... (see part 1 here)

Barra Barra Saloon was the first place we hit that provided mini water bottles and I was so thirsty by this point! After a little 'healthy' liquid, we visited the alcoholic kind.
