Taste of

We finally made it out to Taste of Downtown this year.  Many new restaurants have popped up since the last time we sampled in this area (2006, 2007p1/p2)! The event was originally set for Septemeber 8 but due to a huge blackout, it was moved to September 29. This year there were 49 restaurants on the list to visit between 5-9pm.

Taste of Downtown San Diego 2011 - ticket

Our Taste of Downtown adventure continued as we trekked down 5th St.

Henry's Pub

Henry's Pub - The same dish as last year was served here. Dennis liked the salmon, saying it had a nice brush of lemon on it but the internal temperature of the fish was cold. We skipped out on the mashed potatoes because we've already had them before and we had a long night of tasting ahead of us!

One of our favorite annual San Diego events: The Taste of Downtown. This year, it was held on September 13, from 5-9. A whooping 56 restaurants were participating, in comparison to the 46 from last year. A few restaurants did not participate again this year but there were plenty more that came to replace them! We started our taste by trying the restaurants in Horton Plaza.

San Diego's 7th annual Taste of downtown offers more than 50 restaurants for your tasting pleasure. The event started from 5PM and ended 9PM on 9/14/06. It's $25 per person but it's worth it for the price and large sampling. All the restaurants are within walking distance of each other in the Gaslamp and Little Italy area of downtown San Diego. We managed to hit a third of the restaurants on the list. Next year we'll split up and try to get them all!
