The 2nd Annual Veg Festival will take place in San Diego's North Park district on Saturday November 9th 2013 from 10am to 5pm.

This year’s theme explores what it means to embrace an entire lifestyle of being healthy, sustainable, compassionate and cruelty-free; it isn’t JUST about what we eat!

There will be three different stages with different speakers, demonstrations, and information to check out.

Nozomi Noodles and Teriyaki

In the Convoy area, there are so many asian restaurants to choose from but parking is quite difficult, especially during peak times! One day, Dennis and I first found parking, took a look around, and then decided on Nozomi Noodles and Teriyaki restaurant nearby.

One of the daily specials was to order $30 worth of food and get a free appetizer.

Spirits of Mexico Tequila Trail 2013 Review Part 1 of 2

The Spirits of Mexico Festival is in its 10th year of production with this being the 3rd year of participation for San Diego. We attended the Tequila Trail 2012 last year and had a blast!

To start, we picked up our tickets at will-call, which was located off San Diego Avenue and Twiggs Street. Just look for the big pop-up tents and workers, then pick up your will-call tickets or purchase them on the spot. Then you can take a look at the printed map and visit any of the locations in any order you please! On the back of the map was a list of restaurants and tequilas and we were pleased to see more than half of the tequilas were new to us! How exciting!

Davanti Enoteca (Del Mar)

Davanti Enoteca was introduced to me through a book club meeting a few months back. My friend that picked the restaurant compared it to Cucina Urbana, which itself is quite the popular place and quite delicious! For San Diego Restaurant Week Fall 2013, dinner was a three course meal for $30/person

We had a choice between 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 3 desserts.

Lil' Piggy's Bar-B-Q

A coworker of Dennis's had recommended this BBQ place in Coronado so we were off to try it for ourselves. The restaurant itself is in the tourist-y area of Coronado, surrounded by little shops and other eateries but within sight of a beautiful skyline view of San Diego.
