Chopstix Sushi & Noodle Cafe

After helping my friend assemble his new computer, we decided to grab a bite in Convoy. I wasn’t in the mood for anything in particular. So I asked my friend what was his favorite place to eat at was and he tells me Chopstix. No, this isnt the americanized chain if thats what you’re thinking. That one is Pick Up Stix. Some people get these two places confused.

Upon entering, we were immediately greeted in Japanese and in English by our hostess who promptly escorted us to our table. This is the second time I’ve been to this place and I had the cravings for what I had ordered the last time I was here. Over Rice Chicken Katsu-Don!! ($6.75)

It is deep-fried chicken with an egg omelet (made with a variety of vegetables) over a slightly sweet tasting rice. It is served with miso soup and salad. And my friend got the seasonal specialty, Hiyashi Ramen cold noodles ($7.75). “Limited time only!” It includes imitation crab, seaweed, egg, cucumber, corn, chicken & bean sprouts with a vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, etc. dressing.

Don’t let the pictures fool you. The Chicken Katsu-Don has plenty of rice in that bowl. I came with an empty stomach yet I was only able to finish half that bowl. And all the noodles in the Hiyashi Ramen are hidden under the vegetables, egg, crab mix.

Verdict. You get your money’s worth at this restaurant. Both times I have eaten here, I had to bring home leftovers for togo. And the taste is pretty good too. The only complaint I do have for my particular order, is that the egg soggies up the deep-fried chicken katsu if you don’t eat that fast. Other than that. Thumbs up.

I love this place. The service is fast, friendly and fun. The veggie ramen soup was a out of this world. I couldn’t believe the flavors and experiences my tongue was having. This place should be all over the USA.
