Realm of the 52 Remedies (Speakeasy) - San Diego, CA

Realm of the 52 Remedies recently opened in Convoy, adding a swanky cocktail bar option to the 32 taps available at Common Theory.

I had been curious where this speakeasy would be and was correct on my guess of them purchasing AppleThai next door! The entrance was where the piano used to be! The door was a vivid ray of light against the dimmer pub ambiance.

Inside was a brightly lit room filled with ancient herbs and medicines. Place your hand on the silver character to open the door into the speakeasy.

Pass by flowery strands hanging from the ceiling, through the dim hallway until...

Private booths for guests to share with their friends.

We were able to preview several of their cocktails. Here is La Guepe Verte and Tears of the Dragon.

Jade Empress tempted us with subtle green tea taste and frothy creme on top.

Pretty glasswear for the Sazerac and a second La Guepe Verte for me.

We briefly met at Romescos a year ago but I finally had a chance to mingle with Michelle, the girl behind Eat Drink Be SD. Wonderfully bubbly and sweet, she shared her recent adventures with me as we sipped tasty drinks that evening.

The hosts mentioned that we HAD to check out the bathrooms. The ceiling shined bright with flurescent chinese characters amid the blue hues. Talk about zen colors while you wash up or take care of business! 

We hadn't eaten beforehand so after drinks were done, we headed out to Common Theory for some more food.
