Pastalini
Erin from Citysearch has a weekly spot on Channel 933 every Thursday morning to talk about must-try restaurants. Last week, she recommended Pastalini, a cheap new restaurant in Miramar. Think Subway, but for pasta!
For only $5.95, you get to pick the pasta, sauce, meat (or tofu), and two veggies. Then they mix it together in a frying pan right before your eyes. For an extra $1, we upgraded to cheese tortellini. Our pasta bowl creation (first picture - might look like a plate, but it's really a bowl): cheese tortellini with tequila lime cream, grilled shrimp, roasted corn, and grilled mushrooms. This was served hot and it tasted delicious! Just to let you know, the tequila lime cream is a little spicy, so ask for a sample of the sauce before you order. You also get a few breadnuts on the side. They're pretty tasty.
We also tried the 10" BBQ Chicken Pizza ($5.95). The BBQ sauce had a nice sweet tangy flavor. The pizza is comparable to other gourmet pizzas. The crust looks thin, but it's a little soft, not super crunchy.
They also offer soups, salads, and beverages, including various coffee drinks, such as a latte. Free Wi-fi is also provided in this clean and casual restaurant. Give them a try! Unfortunately, their hours are not posted online, so call them first. We went on a Friday and they were closing at 7 pm. I guess there's not much action on Miramar Road!
