Happy holidays and Toast of Gaslamp
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! I'm sharing a few highlights from this festive season below:
Having foodie friends is always fun! Here are some goodies from CC. The Australian Tim Tam treats are always a hit, especially dark chocolate!
Mary baked up a storm so we couldn't resist having a cookie exchange with her. Her treats included tahini cookies and lemon ricotta bread. On our side, we made our annual chocolate chip cookies with three different mix-ins: 1) Reese Peanut Butter Cup and chocolate chip; 2) milk chocolate and white chocolate chip; 3) Andes Mints. My favorite are the mints!
My darling Dennis smoked some delicious brisket for Christmas using his Rec Tec wood pellet grill. Beautiful smoke ring, great crust on the outside, and the juiciest meat on the inside, even the lean portions!
OMG it's... santa samples! This ELF christmas sweater picture cracks me up! We had a blast on Dec 14 at Toast of Gaslamp which we've attended multiple times.
As usual, we carry around a "punch" card and each restaurant marks off the corresponding number. This was peruvian style chicken fried rice plus a drink sample from Machu Picchu.
By the way, it's my first time wearing an ugly Christmas sweater. Loving the cat with shades on this borrowed sweater (thanks sis-in-law). Yo llama, you want some of this tasty food too?
It's Santa Claws! Even pets were feeling festive that day!
Apparently there was a Santa Run that morning and many of them came out to play after their healthy run! Love this outfit!
One of our favorite bites was the pulled pork from Gaslamp BBQ. Nom nom.
The Field Irish Pub has such a delicious Guinness Beef Stew plus that holiday mule was great!
Cream puff from Le Parfait Paris. This is an amazing bakery!
There were 20 samples that day but I won't flood you with pictures. You'll have to check it out for yourself next year!
Cheers for the holidays! Thank you readers for supporting Oh-So Yummy.
