85c Bakery Cafe (Mira Mesa)
85C Bakery is finally open in Mira Mesa! After braving a super crazy line last year, I was glad we were attending last Friday's grand opening as media. The store opened to the public at 9am but we could already see this line forming by 8:30am! The first 100 people got a coupon book with 12 free drink tickets inside!
As we looked around the store, we noticed these baked goods sitting out... it was so very tempting already!
Shortly after, introductions were made, which included PR head Christopher Jocson, store manager Clover Lang (5 years with the company), area managers Monica Chua and George Agosto and even some staff from the next store in Chula Vista (coming soon). The Mira Mesa location is the 19th store of the franchise and the 2nd location in San Diego.
We also snapped a few pictures of other staff who were hard at work getting all the food made for this busy day!
<3 Bakeries! Oh how I love thee! Savory is the best for me! <3
Here are the machines that seal the drinks! We got in line for our free drink.
Dennis got the sea salt jasmine tea (right) while I got the mango slush with boba! We finally got to sample some of the baked goods!
And look... receipt #1! Dennis was very excited to have the first order of the day!
One of our favorite treats at 85C is the cheesy hot dog item ($1.60).
This is a new item I've never seen before. It has green onions and garlic. Not sure of the price as it was not at the store when I revisited today.
Plenty of baked goods and treats! We're super excited about this store opening and anticipate that it will be busy for at least a week, though based on the Balboa location, it might stay that way for a while too! Regardless, we'll be back to pick up our favorite treats!
Disclaimer: We were invited to the grand opening and our samples were complimentary. We were not otherwise compensated and all opinions stated are our own

There was a place like this in ATL that I LOVED! I didn't know they had them out here. Can't wait to check it out!
There's also Paris Baguette (inside Zion, HMart) that sells similar breads and desserts! This is their competition!
Lucky! Congrats on being number 1 Dennis! That's awesome they let you check out the forbidden kitchen area! I like seeing how stuff is made.
It's too bad that the first person waiting in line outside for the grand opening couldn't get #1 for their wait! That line started around an hour before opening!
Ohh my god... these look so yummy....
They are yummy! Hope you get to try them!
