Escondido Chocolate Festival 2014 - event info
Ready to enter a world full of chocolate treats and other delectable goodies? Indulge in the sweetest mix of chocolate and unique art at Escondido’s Chocolate Festival. The event sweetly known as “For the Love of Chocolate” will be held in downtown Historic Escondido on Saturday, February 8th. With Valentine’s Day around the corner and love in the air, Grand Avenue is the perfect destination to satisfy your sweet tooth and your sweetheart.
The Chocolate takeover commences at 1pm when “Sweet Street” opens at the Maple Street Plaza. Treat yourself or your honey to a romantic horse and carriage ride and sample some of the finest ware from local and international chocolatiers, jewelry designers and other vendors.
So-Cal’s dynamic Brian and Lady Ivy of Caliber are serving guests the “Caliber Experience” with their energetic live music. The 21 and older crowd can enjoy every morsel of exotic chocolates with the perfect pairing of boutique wines, champagnes, and locally-crafted beers along Grand Avenue’s various tasting locations. The pairings include samples of chocolate infused dishes and beverages by local restaurants.
The Perfect Pairing “Golden Ticket” price is $35 when purchased by February 7th at 5 pm and $45 after that. The ticket for designated driver (no alcohol but will enjoy the other tastings) is $20 until 5 pm on February 7th, and $30 after that. Tickets can be purchased at the event website www.escondidochocolatefestival.com or at “Sweet Street” on the day of the event. We encourage all visitors to partake of the festivities responsibly. Admission to Sweet Street is free to the public of all ages.
The Escondido Art Walk, which is held every 2nd Saturday of each month will also be a part of the festivities. Several galleries and museums will open their doors to the public to feature various art exhibits from both world-renown and emerging artists.
