Cohn Anniversary Week 2015 - Indigo Grill and OB Warehouse visits
We love participating in the Cohn Restaurant Group anniversary specials.
2015 Anniversary Promo: Join us at our participating restaurants Sunday, January 4th through Thursday, January 8th and enjoy a 2-course menu for the unbelievable price of $20.15.
This year did change a bit from the previous years; the 3 course meal is now only a 2 course meal, but it's still worth it in our opinion! We decided on Indigo Grill and OB Warehouse this year.
Indigo Grill
We visited Indigo Grill last year as well but there were different menu items this time so we came back.
We chose the Shrimp and Bay Scallop Ceviche for our first appetizer. I did notice jalapeno taste after my second bite so this does have a kick in it. I like that it isn't too salty or sour which I attribute to the spicy element. It's a bit liquidy at the bottom though.
The Baby Kale and Quinoa Salad was our other appetizer. I usually don't like raw kale but baby kale either isn't bitter or was downplayed by the vinaigrette. The cranberries seemed pretty plump too. The slight saltiness of the dressing and quinoa brought the salad together for us. The accompanying bread had an interesting wood burn taste and we found out later it's toasted with garlic oil directly on the grill!
One of our main selections was the Braised Pork Belly Flatbread which had nice sweetness and spiciness with the peppers. The gouda cheese of course was one of our favorite parts.
The Mushroom Pappadelle Pasta was super hot when it first came out. It was on the buttery side for me but it did have nice chunks of mushroom throughout. As it cooled down it didn't seem as runny. It had some nice contrasting textures between the elements but it's not exactly the best mix for me.
Even with a reduced two course meal, we were stuffed AND had leftovers. This happens every time we come to here!
Indigo Grill also went through a remodel last year and I like the new colors and the mood lighting of the bar area.
OB Warehouse
After the grand opening event last year, we wanted to come back to try some full size dishes.
We couldn't help ourselves and ordered the Crispy Artichoke Hearts from the grand opening. It reminds us of calamari with the light breading. They even season and grill the lemon too! On the side was a lemon and ginger aioli that was great for dipping. Even the Frisee salad seemed tossed in a similar flavor so that was tasty too, though the sauce was sweeter.
The Little Gem Wedges came out stacked thick but tasted as if the components had been tossed individually as well. Every lettuce leaf had some flavor to pair with the vinaigrette. The Bleu cheese and seven pepper viniagrette complimented each other well!
The Grilled Mahi Mahi was something we had sampled as a bite during the grand opening. The fish flaked apart easily and had a pleasant saltiness on the crust. The veggies were steamed and supple. The white sauce had a potato grittiness from the cauliflower base while the orange sauce had a subtle vinegar accent to the bell pepper base, and both were good with the fish.
The "Greek" Lamb Burger had a very heavy flavor for Dennis. You can definitely taste the lamb meat which was very juicy in this form yet not greasy. I liked it in this Mediterranean form. We made sure to finish this off quick before the bread could get soggy from the patty but the bread had a thickness about it. It came with fries (not pictured) which were average but salted appropriately at a decent crispiness and temperature.
To finish, we had the Bittersweet Chocolate Cake, which is topped with a candied lemon and cream. Yummy finish.
Dennis also got a drink. The Vice Grip had an initial syrup taste but a great aftertaste from the orange liquior and chocolate notes. The alcohol taste is well hidden and it hit us unexpextedly later in the evening!
We enjoyed our anniversary week dinners and will probably be back again next year. Maybe we'll even branch out and try some of their other locations! Menus attached below.

I've been wanting ceviche soooo bad lately. The version at Indigo does look watery though. I think we tried Indigo years ago (2008?) when we went to a jazz concert close by. So it might be worth another visit especially after the remodel.
Maybe you should try the sea bass ceviche at Barra Barra Saloon in Old Town. I think we found a really good one during Latin Food Festival as well.
I really wanted to try and make one of these dinners but I didn't. I can't even remember why. I love the look of that candied lemon! And I want that mushroom pasta. Yum.
We buy Cohn restaurant giftcards every year so we eat at least once a year too! Before the anniversary special courses changed, it was definitely a super bargain meal! Hmm, I'm pretty sure we only buy pre-fixe meals though because they are priced so well!
